01 - 4 slices Italian bread or sourdough

02 - 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, sliced or shredded
03 - 12 to 16 slices pepperoni

05 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
# How-To Steps:
01 - Lay out bread slices and spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each slice.
02 - Place two slices butter side down on a flat surface. Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons marinara sauce on the unbuttered side of each slice. Layer mozzarella evenly over the sauce, then add pepperoni slices.
03 - Top with remaining bread slices, butter side up, to form two sandwiches.
04 - Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat until hot.
05 - Place sandwiches in the skillet. Cook each side for 3 to 4 minutes, pressing gently, until bread is golden brown and cheese has melted.
06 - Remove sandwiches from heat and let rest for one minute. Slice diagonally and serve warm with additional marinara sauce.
